Yesterday, at the Family Rail Fan Days at the NC Museum of Transportation in Spencer, NC, I had the privilege of sharing the stage with and using the microphone of Hobo Bill and Kristin (Morris). I was at the museum as a part of 2nd Saturdays , sponsored by the NC Department of Cultural Resources and the NC Arts Council. I hope to participate in another of their events in August, but no word yet on that.
I’d seen Hobo Bill and Kristin (Morris) there other years, but I’d never taken the time to talk to them and realize what delightful talented people they are.
Using the tag line, “FOLKLORE… Through Storytelling and Song,” the couple presented a great program of railroad tales, myths, legends and songs, some of them sing-along songs. They have a new CD, Hobo Bound, that got rave reviews in the last issue of Trains (magazine).
Check out Hobo Bill and Kristin (Morris). They live in Hickory, NC.
