It is the Year of Jubilee.
I walked through Holy Doors,
prayed an “Our Father,”

spoke quietly to Mary. I enjoyed
special mercy only God can impart
on Tuesday in Charlotte at the Cathedral.

Today I made a Spiritual Communion,
missing Sunday Mass. I longed to go
but could not.

Today and every day, Father,
You give me the promised “daily bread.”
Sometimes that bread is mercy,
but today I needed grace.

You blessed me and gave me Yourself,
joined me to You with a bond
no one can break.

We are called to find Christ in them, to lend our voice to their causes, but also to be their friends, to listen to them, to speak for them and to embrace the mysterious wisdom which God wishes to share with us through them.
