For another great King video, see Sherry Chandler’s blog.

King died in support of men such as those whose carried the signs “I AM A MAN.” “I may not get there with you… but we as a people will get to the promised land.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

King died a bloody martyr’s death in Memphis, so that we can get there.

April 4 Reflection

Reflection: Through the chasid [Hebrew for the one who is merciful] the love of God reaches into the world in a visible mystery, a mystery of poverty and love, meekness and power.

Thomas Merton. Seasons of Celebration, p. 179.

Reading from the Bible: Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights. I have put my spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street. A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. Isaiah 42:1-3. [NRSV]

Prayer: Let us enter Holy Week in communion with you, the Chasid of all chasidim, and praise the great work the Father has done in you because of your loving-kindness and compassion.
