How true! If you thought of Christianity as a myth, you would be apt to learn more about it, out of curiosity. Whereas those of us who know the story to be true, do sometimes assent, take it for granted, etc.

I think sometimes those of us who have been Christians for a long time are fearful of looking at the story through other eyes. But if we do, we find the story to be true on a larger scale than we thought.

The shininess and miraculous nature of the entirety of the story starts to wear off and I for one have become lulled into a hypnotic state – my pastor is very good at frequently preaching sermons that wake us up to the wonder. I love it when he stirs up the excitement all over again for the greatest story every told.

Yes, Ellen, the wonder is often what we have let slip through our fingers. Sadly, one can be alive without feeling so.
