“The desire for freedom resides in every human heart. [Illegals too?] And that desire cannot be contained forever by prison walls, or martial laws, or secret police [or the National Guard?]. Over time, and across the Earth, freedom will find a way. [Thank you, Jesus.]”
—George W. Bush, Speech to UN General Assembly, September 21, 2004, and Helen Losse, Windows Toward the World, May 17, 2006.
“America is the land of the second chance—and when the gates of the prison open, the path ahead should lead to a better life.”
—George W. Bush
Bush announced Monday that he would send 6,000 National Guard troops to the 2,000-mile border, but they would provide intelligence and surveillance support to Border Patrol agents, not catch and detain illegal immigrants.

Hi Helen!
Interesting quandry we find ourselves in. A trade off between freedom and safety. Brings to mind Benjamin Franklins words:
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
What do you think?

I agree with Franklin. Those who play it safe are seldom free. Yet those who are free worry little about being safe.

Thanks. It is my own paraphrse of “the truth will set you free.” Without Jesus, what is freedom?
